Located on the
southwest of Kaifeng City, it's one of the famous Taoism
temple in China. It's originally named Chongyang Temple,
it was built in memory of Wang Chongyang, the founder of
Chuan Chen Tao (one sect of Taoism), who spread the Taoism
and died here. It was repaired and expanded in the early
year of Yuan Dynasty, in the compound of the temple, the
halls were magnificent, and went to the climax once in a
time. It was repaired and renamed as Yanqing Temple in 1373
AD in Ming Dynasty, up to now. The most buildings in the
temple were destroyed, and only the Tower of Jade Emperor
is remained.
